From the author of the Wife Between Us, An anonymous had high expectations. This book goes back and forth between a therapist, Dr. Shields, and the “the anonymous girl”, Jessica.

Jessica is a makeup artist that doesn’t make much and gradually gets by. Looking for anyway to earn a buck she finds her way to an experimental study. The study needed a younger woman to answer questions about her life choices which paid well so she decided to attend. After a few sessions, she became more and more interested in each session. They would ask simple and then deep questions about what her true intentions were around her decisions. Since answering the questions, she started to live by how she would be judged by her decisions.

The questions in the sessions then started getting more personal and direct towards Jessica. Dr. Shields, becomes very interested in the new subject. She then asked Jessica to meet outside of the questionnaire. Jessica agrees and was honored to be selected to join Dr.Shields for a one-on-one.

As these meetings get more and more frequent as well as more involved with Jessicas life, are these meetings for a social experiment or are they more? Out of all people, why Jessica to have such frequent meetings?
