Star Rating = 4.5 Very Good-Highly Recommend

This book will take you through every increment of aging. From stress, to our wrinkles down to our genes. Levitin does a fantastic job breaking every aspect of aging. He will explain why we age, how we age and can we slow down the aging process?

We all hear about, “what I did to live a longer life” stories. Does an apple a day really keep a doctor away? Does using vitamin c everyday help reduce the appearance of wrinkles? If I run 2 miles a day can I live a longer life? Are any of these suggestions facts or great marketing schemes? Levitin does all the research you need to answer those questions.

Levitin also makes this research based book a story so you aren’t reading a textbook he will tell life stories, how he got into the aging research process and how this has changed his life.

I would highly recommend to anyone that is interested in true facts around the longevity of life. It will put you in a better place in terms of aging. Aging is stressful, we get wrinkles we never use to have, we don’t look as good, we feel ‘slower’ and every TV commercial will promise you 5 years back if you just buy their product. I am 28, just about at my peak and I do worry about what can I do right now to help myself in the future. I research skin products, exercises, dietary needs, supplements, etc. I honestly make myself stir crazy with how much I worry about “what can I do now to be better in the future” This book kept me at ease. It gave me the information I needed to make better decisions in the future. Does it recommend the best skin care product on the market? No, but it does show you the research behind these products in terms of aging. In the end, this book won’t provide you a life regimen to “live a longer life” but it will give you fantastic, factual tools to build your life choices as we age. And the last chapter will close with 10 suggestions to a happy, longevity of life that I think we should all reference.
