Monique has never had much success as a writer and when Hugo singles out Monique to write her biography, she is confused and honored. Why would such a famous star chose her? Is she too immature for this?
After deciding that this opportunity is once in a life time, Hugo and Monique go down the roads of every man Hugo has married. They talk about the struggles of being a young woman in Hollywood and the fear. They discuss her successes and empowerment. And at the very end we find out why Hugo chooses Monique and it has the book in for a twist!
A famous book around the socials and at first I didn’t understand how it could have so much hype. After the first 3 chapters, the book has you hooked. The author does a fantastic job leaving mystery to Hugo that you want to know more about. She is a strong woman that knows what she wants and is ready to go through anything to make that happen. I like the power she has over men and reading the struggles she goes through. I think as a woman we can all relate to Hugo in the way of falling in love, falling in the desired feelings. We fall into this man trap where we want to be desired by men and crave the feeling they give us when they want us. This is not just sexual but also emotional.
This is a fun and entertaining book that would intrigue romance lovers as well as mystery lovers. Highly recommend I understand the hype! 5 stars.
